Mi lengua materna es la miseria, el desarraigo, la diáspora, el silencio. Mis lenguas maternas son todas estas, a mi pesar o para alegría mía, todas estas que escribo mal, con faltas de ortografía, con poco vocabulario, todas mezcladas y todas fallidas. Pero hoy, aquí, dejo de escoger. Y dejo de mentir: una lengua no es solo una colección de sonidos, es también un imaginario, una interlocución. El Tríptico del silencio son tres libros parecidos pero distintos, en mis tres lenguas maternas, para tres comunidades lingüísticas, si es que eso existe. Cada uno de los tres está escrito, a su vez, mezclando los tres idiomas: porque eso somos nosotras, el no tener un idioma común, el ir haciendo como podemos. Y porque es necesario un esfuerzo para entender una historia que ha sido negada, afinar el oído, dejarse incomodar y entregarse un poco, también, a gramáticas imposibles.
